Becoming a Certified General Accountant in Ontario
CGAs are accounting and finance professionals who receive thorough training through their theoretical and practical experience requirements. They are respected worldwide for their management and organizational leadership. Like CAs and CMAs, CGAs are found working in a variety of disciplines, holding such key positions as partners, CFOs, vice-presidents, directors, management, controllers, forensic accountants, professors, financial analysts, and more.
To receive your CGA designation, you must complete a post-secondary degree, which may qualify you for advanced standing in the program. This designation has both academic and practical work experience requirements which need to be fulfilled.
