Jeremy Zinger Recruitment Privacy Policy At Jeremy Zinger Recruitment Incorporated ("JZR"), we understand the importance of the confidentiality of personal information. JZR is committed to maintaining the privacy of this personal information responsibly. The following Policy articulates the practices by which JZR collects, uses, maintains and discloses the personal information of its candidates as a necessary vehicle for attaining employment of its candidates. Please read this Policy carefully and if you have any questions or concerns, please contact our Privacy Officer at privacy@jzr.ca.
I. APPLICATION This Policy governs the collection, use and disclosure of personal information by JZR from and about those individuals who are not employees of JZR, in compliance with the privacy legislation within the jurisdiction in which we operate. This Policy covers only those activities that are subject to the provisions of Canada's federal and provincial privacy laws, as they may be applicable.
II. DEFINING PERSONAL INFORMATION For the purposes of the Policy, “personal information” is defined as any and all such information pertaining to a specific individual other than the individual’s business, business title, or business contact information. This information may include: (i). information pertaining to your identity, such as your name, contact address, telephone number and electronic mail address; (ii). good or service information concerning the goods and services which may be provided to, or received from, you; (iii). client-centric relationship information as it may relate to requests, requirements, input, feedback, information requested or provided by or from you; (iv). business relationship information, including such information as it relates to your agreements, preferences, advisors and decision-makers as it may relate; (v). information considered necessary to your employment history, academic history, official records and transaction details, including previous or anticipated financial compensation including all salaries, benefits and bonus packages, regardless of their form, as well as information obtained through interviews and evaluations, including work history, job search history; and (vi). if required, information for the purposes of payroll activities, including your Social Insurance Number and information required for the direct deposit of remuneration to your bank account. From time-to-time, JZR may also engage in the collection of market-relevant information, which may or may not include such personal information concerning market trends and activities impacting our business and information related to our media and public relations activities. This information allows us to manage, and is crucial to the development of, our business and operations. Such uses include the establishment, maintenance and management of an ongoing relationship with you, which allows us to provide you with information in respect of the services which you have requested we seek, including your eligibility for any given employment opportunity. This also allows us to receive feedback on the services which we provide for our candidates and clients, aiding in the constant improvement of our service. We utilize our database to make you aware of new services which may be of interest to you, including such services which you are not currently seeking but may be interested in. Your personal information will be used to facilitate business contact between our company and its clients, including yourself, as well as any other reasonable purpose to which you consent, such as enabling us to comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
III. CONCERNING THE USE AND DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION We engage in the use and disclosure of your personal information for the purposes described in this Policy; or for any other purposes for which we have obtained your prior consent to the use or disclosure of your personal information. This consent may be expressed, deemed or implied, where we may collect, use, maintain or disclose your personal information without your knowledge or consent where we are permitted or required by applicable law or regulatory requirements to do so. As a candidate, you may rest assured that your personal information will never be disclosed to any potential employer without your prior consent under any circumstances.
IV. VISITING OUR WEBSITE When you visit our website (www.jzr.ca), you may do so without disclosing to us who you are or revealing any personal information about yourself, including your e-mail address. You should know that our web server may or may not collect information related to your visit to our website, including the IP address and domain used to access our site, the type and version of your Internet browser, the website you came from to access our website, the page you entered and exited at, any website page that is viewed by that IP address and what country you are from. This information is utilized to monitor the performance of our website, as it may pertain to the number of visitors, average time spent on our site, page views, and for business purposes related to the continual improvement of our website. If you decide to apply for a position through our website, JZR implies that you have provided your consent to the collection, use, maintenance and disclosure of your personal information for the purposes and in the manner set out in this Privacy Policy.
V. WHO WILL BE ACCESSING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION Your personal information will be shared with our employees, contractors, consultants and such other parties who require said information to assist us with establishing, maintaining and managing our business relationship with you. This may or may not include third parties which are engaged to provide services to us or on our behalf; including those parties working with us in to provide services to you; and third parties whose services we use to perform our services. By means of this Policy, personal information may be disclosed or transferred to an additional party in the event of a change in ownership of JZR, a grant of an interest in JZR, in part or in whole, through a form of business acquisition, merger, joint venture or otherwise. This Policy provides that such party will be held accountable by applicable agreements or obligations requiring the use or disclosure of your personal information in a manner consistent with the provisions of this Policy, unless you consent to otherwise.
VI. WE VALUE YOUR CONSENT It is absolutely crucial to us that where we collect, use, maintain or disclose your personal information, we have your consent to do so. In certain circumstances and depending on the sensitivity of the personal information involved, your consent may be implied, deemed (using an opt-out mechanism) or express. Express consent may be given orally, electronically or in writing. Implied consent is consent that can reasonably be inferred from your action or inaction. As such, if you choose to provide a resume or other personal information by mail, fax, e-mail or otherwise, whether in response to an advertisement or to JZR in general, we will assume your consent to the collection, use, maintenance and disclosure of your personal information for purposes related to your recruitment and placement by JZR. You may, at any time, change or withdraw your consent, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice, simply by contacting our Privacy Officer at the address set out below. By doing so, you recognize that in some circumstances, the change in or withdrawal of consent may severely limit our ability to provide services to in part or in entirety, or acquire products or services from, you. Any and all communications with respect to such a withdrawal or variation of your consent should be confirmed in writing and addressed directly to your consultant, or to our Privacy Officer.
VII. STORAGE OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION At JZR, we understand the importance and necessity in protecting your personal information, which is why we endeavour to take every necessary step to safeguard the personal information in question; including all measures to prevent your personal information from loss, unauthorized access, duplication, manipulation, use or disclosure.
VIII. ACCESSING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION In adherence to Canadian federal and provincial legislation, you have the right to see your personal information which is being held by JZR. If at any time you wish to be granted access to your personal information, we require you to complete and submit an “Access to Information Request Form” to our Privacy Officer. This form is available by contacting your consultant directly. Please be advised that we may require specific information in order to enable us to confirm your identity and rights of access, as well as allowing us to search for and provide the personal information we retain about you. As per industry standards, there may be a fee applied to access your personal information, however, we will advise you of any such fee in advance. You should be aware that your right to access the personal information that we maintain in respect of you is not absolute. Under certain circumstances, Canadian federal or provincial laws and regulations may allow or require us to refuse to provide some or all of the personal information that we hold about you. Due to our record retention practices and obligations, personal information may have been destroyed, erased or made anonymous and, therefore, unavailable. In the event of our inability to provide you with access to your personal information, we will, subject to any legal or regulatory restrictions, endeavour to inform you of the reasons why.

X. REVISIONS TO, AND INTERPRETATIONS OF THE POLICY JZR may, from time-to-time, amend this Policy. We will post any revised versions of this Policy on our website at www.jzr.ca. Any such changes will be effective from the date on which they are posted. If any changes are made to JZR's collection, use, maintenance or disclosure of your personal information that require your consent, no changes will be implemented until such time that your consent has been obtained. This Policy has a limited scope and application, as set out in the legislation consistent with the jurisdictions in which JZR may operate. This Policy does not create or confer upon any individual any rights, or impose upon JZR any rights or obligations outside of, or in addition to, any rights or obligations imposed by Canada's federal and provincial privacy laws, as applicable. If in a specific case, any inconsistency between this Privacy Policy and Canada's federal and provincial privacy laws, as applicable, this Privacy Policy shall be interpreted, in respect of that case, to give effect to, and comply with, such privacy laws.
